What is Zero-Click Search?

A zero-click search is a query that is answered directly on the search results page, so the user never clicks through to a website. Featured snippets, knowledge panels, and AI Overviews all drive zero-click behavior. A large and growing share of Google searches now end without a click to an external site.

Why it matters

Zero-click results shift the goal from earning the click to being the cited source, and make brand presence in the answer itself a measurable objective.
